Please Follow the New Rule
At your workplace, a new rule is announced.
It is explained briefly, and no one asks questions.
One employee takes the rule extremely seriously, more than anyone intended, refusing to bend it, “just this once.”
Soon, small problems turn into big ones, especially for customers, while the employee insists they are “just doing their job.”
Writer’s Riot Prompt #3:
The Pied Piper
A modern-day pied piper hears about a local problem through [.*how did they hear about the local problem?an accidental reply-all, a message sent to the wrong group chat, a cryptic emoji-only post, doom scrolling through social media...or.?..]
He/she/they make a decision to help and show up uninvited. loudly, and with great confidence. Payment terms are demanded.
The pied piper approaches the problem immediately, using a method that surprises everyone at the location.
Payment is not delivered because:
[They said later no one remembered agreeing to anything, someone thought it was sarcasm, someone offered good vibes, social media exposure - other reason why any such payment wasn’t delivered]
